What is FPV?

FPV, or First-Person View, is a style of drone flying where you see exactly what the drone’s camera sees—live—in your FPV goggles or on a screen. It’s like sitting in the cockpit of the drone and flying from its perspective. This immersive experience makes FPV perfect for high-speed racing, freestyle tricks, and cinematic filming. It gives you precise control, smooth movements, and unique angles that normal drones can’t achieve. It’s both an adrenaline-filled sport and a creative way to capture the world from the sky.

What can you get out of FPV?

For most people, FPV is pure fun and excitement. But for others, it’s also about dedication, skill, and achievement. FPV is a skill-based sport that takes practice and precision to master. Around 90% of pilots enjoy it for the incredible photos and videos they can capture, while others are deeply passionate about pushing the limits—whether it’s urban “bando” flying, freestyle stunts, or competitive racing. It’s a blend of art, sport, and self-expression.

FPV vs. Normal Drone Flying

Normal drone flying is usually done by watching the drone from the ground (line-of-sight) and using assisted flight modes that rely on sensors. FPV is different—you wear goggles and fly in acro mode (manual), giving you complete freedom for flips, rolls, dives, and dynamic turns that normal drones can’t match. Flying FPV is like having a bird’s-eye view of the world, with an unmatched feeling of immersion.

Getting Started — Do You Need Expensive Gear?

Not at all! FPV gear is often more affordable than standard drones, lasts longer, and is cheaper to repair. To get started, all you need is the skill to fly—and we can teach you that! At DBUVS, we offer training and different membership options:

• New Pilots – Learn to fly FPV with our training program.
• Flying Without Owning – Already know how to fly? Rent our drones and join the fun.
• Independent Pilots – Already own a drone? Fly with our community and meet other pilots.

We run events weekly (1–2 days a week) and provide junior pilot training for young flyers.
